While Philly Fringe is in full swing, the rest of the city continues to celebrate milestones, anniversaries, and new seasons. At TILT, a new exhibition showcases a local Philly artist, taking a line from a Toni Morrison novel and running with it. The Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest marks the beginning of a new season at the Kimmel; Philly AIDS hosts a block party after hitting two significant markers; and ComedySportz Philadelphia introduces a new series.
Shikeith: People Who Die Bad Don’t Stay in the Ground

This new exhibition from visual artist Shikeith pulls inspiration from Toni Morrison’s novel Beloved and dives into the ongoing investigation of the hauntological encounters and lived realities of Black men and boys, using photography, video, and installation.
Philly AIDS 20th Anniversary Block Party

Philly AIDS Thrift, 710 South 5th Street
In celebration of reaching $5 million in donations to over 50 local HIV/AIDS services organizations and the 20th anniversary, Philly AIDS will throw a block party this weekend. Live musical performances, food trucks, a Philly celebrity dunk tank, a pie-eating content, and yes, firebreathing, will all be in tow for the all-ages extravaganza.
Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest

The Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest is back, and in its fifth year, will feature over 50 arts organizations and a variety of performances. The party kicks off the 2025-26 season.
Csz Philly’s Monthly Story Slam

Csz Philadelphia will open its doors on every second Sunday of the month for some hearty laughs in a new venture for the group. Performers and storytellers are invited to take the mic and tell their story, and each month promises a new theme. Audience members will have a chance to vote for the best performance, and the winner will earn a cash prize.

Good Things: An Evening with Samin Nosrat

Ensemble Arts Philly hosts Samin Nosrat, a James Beard award-winning chef and author who is on tour for her new book Good Things: Recipes and Rituals to Share With the People You Love. Good Things has over more than 125 recipes infused with warmth, creativity, and precision for those who want to cook for loved ones. Nosrat’s claim to fame has been the Netflix show Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, which is the title of her 2017 cookbook of the same name.
