Latin America has a rich tradition of classical music that often goes unnoticed, but Intercultural Journeys kicks off its second concert series with Luigi Mazzocchi, Pennsylvania Ballet Concertmaster, who will feature music from his native Venezuela. In addition to popular music from various regions of the country, the program will also include classical works by the likes of Antonio Lauro, Juan Bautista Plaza, Vicente Emilio Sojo, and Manuel Contreras. The performance also includes a world premiere by Efraín Amaya, a Venezuelan-born American composer. Intercultural Journeys is committed to promoting peace and cultural understanding through the arts. The show is coming up on Sunday, October 18 at 7pm at International House’s Ibrahim Theater, 3701 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, with a pre-concert artist conversation at 6:15pm. General admission tickets are $15 ($10 for IHP members, $8 for students). For tickets, click here or call 215-387-5125.
