The Bach Festival’s Bach@7 series is a unique event — an hour of music packed with a Bach cantata and well-chosen companion pieces, followed by a reception that includes upscale wines provided by a genial, music-loving wine merchant. The centerpiece of the November 12 event is Bach’s Cantata No. 70, a piece that starts with one of Bach’s bounciest choruses and includes spirited arias, majestic chorales, and the bright sound of the Baroque trumpet. It will be accompanied by a Baroque trumpet concerto and Mendelssohn’s brief, three-part Die Deutsche Liturgie for double chorus.

The Bach Festival will present Bach@7 on November 12 at 7pm at St. Clement’s Church, 20th and Appletree Streets (between Arch and Cherry Streets), Philadelphia. It’s a pay-what-you-wish show with a $20 recommended donation at the door (no advance sales). For more information, visit www.choralarts.com.
