For their first trip to Society Hill, Mimi Stillman’s Dolce Suono Ensemble has assembled an appealing, highly varied mixture of music for various combinations of voice, clarinet, flute, string trio, and harpsichord. The clarinet will be provided by a notable special guest, the Philadelphia Orchestra’s principal clarinetist Ricardo Morales. The voice will be provided by a rising young mezzo-soprano, Misoon Ghim, singing songs and arias by Mozart and a trio of Baroque composers: Handel, Lully, and the Elizabethan lute singer John Dowland. Morales will accompany Ghim in the Mozart aria. The other instruments will provide accompaniments and add extra variety playing chamber works by Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, and the Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla.

Dolce Suono Ensemble presents DSE Goes to Society Hill on Sunday, April 27 at 3pm at Old Pine Street Presbyterian Church, 412 Pine Street, Philadelphia. Tickets are $25; $20 for seniors and $10 for students. This includes the post-concert conversation and reception. For tickets and more information, call 267-252-1803 or visit www.dolcesuono.com/tickets.
