The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry and Lisa Alvarado: Talismans for a Theater of Resilience

Ars Nova Workshop and the Fabric Workshop and Museum present The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry, a retrospective centered around Swedish visual artist and designer Moki Cherry. The exhibition brings together textiles, tapestries, paintings, drawings, concert posters, clothing, ceramics, music, and more to explore Moki’s process and experience. This also opens alongside Talismans for a Theater of Resilience, an exhibition on fabric, light, and sound works by artist-in-residence Lisa Alvarado.

Network for New Music opens its 2025-26 season, titled Myths, Murmurs, and the Macabre, this weekend with the first concert. The company will celebrate the legacy of Afro-Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, exploring his works that helped redefine classical guitar repertoire.
Falsettos

Arden Theatre Company begins its new season as well with a Tony Award-winning musical. Falsettos tells the story of Marvin, who is navigating life after leaving his wife and son to be with his lover, and explores the humor, heartbreak, and complexity of finding connection amidst the emerging AIDS crisis in the 1980s. Opening night is Saturday, October 4, at 7pm.

The company’s fall art show showcases work that reflects pop art culture, and this year’s edition will have guest performances by Melange Contemporary Dance and Allegory Dance Theatre.

Get into spooky season with a vendor market, a film festival, and an appearance by Philly’s own horror film veteran Brian Anthony Wilson (and other guests!) at this year’s Invasion Weekend. Over 25 local artisans will showcase handmade jewelry, aromatic candles, books, and more. Cosplay is highly encouraged.
