Submissions are open for the 2017 Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival
Women who believe it’s an especially important time to be heard on our stages are in luck: The Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival (PWTF) is now accepting applications from playwrights for its third annual festival, coming up August 1 through 7, 2017.
Last year, the PWTF lineup landed for five days at the Caplan Studio Theater at UArts, in addition to an opening-night cabaret and an all-women comedy show. PWTF presented shows in three categories: developing work (one play), staged readings (three), and “presented works” getting a full production (three, including one night of two new solo works). Here’s the WNWN look at the 2016 lineup.
PWTF is accepting applications from playwrights living in the greater Philadelphia area through February 13, 2017. Check out the online submissions page for details, and keep an eye out for more BSR coverage of the festival this summer.
