Since 1936, Philadelphia has been home to the Philadelphia Science Fiction Conference, or Philcon. This weekend-long event, November 8 to 10, unites fans of science fiction, fantasy, horror, anime, gaming, comics and graphic novels.
This year’s Philcon will feature a keynote address by Allen Steele, the Hugo-Award winning author of Orbital Decay, Lunar Descent and the Coyote Series of space-exploration novels. Other notable guests include Eisner-Award winning illustrator and artist Charles Vess and musicians the Heather Dale Band and S.J. Tucker. A costume ball caps off the festivities on Saturday evening.
