Artists of Inis Nua, Philadelphia Theatre Company, and Theatre Exile sit down with Darnelle
Go behind the scenes of June theater on the BSR podcast with Square Go, Small Ball, and Glitter in the Glass

Hear from director Kathryn MacMillan and actors Owen Corey and Tyler Elliot in this conversation all about the Philly premiere of Square Go, a Scottish play about two 13-year-old prep-school boys who realize that one of them has just challenged the toughest boy in school to a fight (a "square go"). MacMillan explains why she knew she wanted to produce the play within a few pages of reading it, and the actors share about the rehearsal process, including their intensive dialect work.
The show runs through June 22, 2025. Don't miss critic Chhaya Nayyar's review.

Hear from actors Adam Chandler-Berat and Jordan Dobson about starring in the latest show from Philadelphia Theatre Company, Small Ball, alongside an ensemble of Philly's favorite locals. It's a mix of Gulliver's Travels, basketball, and music the actors describe as Alan Menken meets Bjork (yes, you heard all that right!). This absurdist musical imagines that fictional places like the Island of Lilliput have become real, and the Lilliputians are entering the world stage with their own basketball team. Broadway veterans Chandler-Beret and Dobson share about the welcome they had in Philly, and why doing regional theater is often more exciting than Broadway.
The show runs through June 29, 2025. Look out next week for a review from Cameran Kelsall.

Darnelle Radford welcomes director Ontaria Kim Wilson and playwright R. Eric Thomas to the studio, two artists with deep Philly ties. They discuss the East Coast premiere of Glitter in the Glass, now onstage at Theatre Exile. They talk about the show's exploration of community, identity, and storytelling in the Black experience, plus the differences between Baltimore and Philadelphia. Glitter in the Glass follows an artist commissioned to replace a Confederate monument, a project that becomes thornier than it seems.
The show runs through June 22, 2025. Don't miss critic Krista Mar's review.
