Robert J. Robbins served as USA Secretary of Big Bands International, a quarterly publication based in Reading, UK, from 1978 until its demise in 2011. He has also contributed to the London-based Crescendo International and AllAboutJazz.com. He lives in Broomall, PA.

Robert J. Robbins was born in Philadelphia on January 25, 1953. He holds a B.A. from Villanova University and an M.A. in Music History from West Chester University. For most of his career, he was employed by Hi Fi House, Inc., located in his hometown of Broomall, PA.
From 1978 until 2011, Robert served as USA Secretary of Big Bands International, headquartered in Reading, UK and publisher of a quarterly newsmagazine, to which he was a regular contributor. His articles and reviews have also appeared in the London-based Crescendo International and AllAboutJazz.com. Classic jazz and big band music are his favorites, although he also loves symphonic music, the Great American Popular Songbook, and musical theater.
