Éireann Mannino (they/them/their pronouns) is a Bucks County based multidisciplinary artist and freelance film writer. They hold a B.F.A from Tyler School of Art and have pursued numerous projects of a site specific nature since 2007, including several works of short film/video. Twice an Artist In Residence of Philly’s own Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Mannino explores the inevitability of patterns and poetry when looking up close. This translates into their passion for international cinema which has resulted in a decade of writing, from their days posting on a blog that no one read, to the print publication Korean Quarterly, to cinedelphia.com and its recent evolution as Cinema76. Using the cinematic goings on of the area as a context, Mannino’s goal is to broach the larger potentials of the medium to generate intercultural dialogue and empathy. They are currently studying Japanese Language at Middlebury Language Schools.
