Last night, I had the pleasure of being a part of our HELP US HELP YOU webinar, a session designed for artists who want to be better at PR. Our editor-in-chief Alaina Johns was joined by Jill Ivey and Grayce Carson (all experts at what they do) to discuss what makes an impact for PR, but I think what I find most interesting about this webinar (that we've run three times now) is how important it is to make sure PR is communicating with the artists and the reporters and influencers efficiently. Why? Because without the right message, we can't get the proper word out to you about events, artists, groups, and organizations that have compelling work to share with you. With bad PR, it's not just us journalists and the artists who suffer, it's the audience. It's a challenge to get ahold of people's ears and eyes, let alone generate interest, these days. I'm grateful that we have the capacity to offer these sessions to you all. I hope everyone who attended found value, and I hope to see more of you next year!
Until then, though, we've got another week (or so) in December to cover. The Unscripted Project looks to bring improv to schools in the area; the Trans Art Mart pops up this weekend; and this week's roundup is robust with holiday and non-holiday offerings.
Thank you for being part of our community!
