I appreciate the fact that two of our recent reviews focus on works that explore how multiple generations of women endure, heal, and tell their own stories despite trauma, marginalization, and abuse. It’s certainly timely, given that less than two weeks ago, the Supreme Court revoked the constitutional right to privacy and bodily autonomy for anyone who can become pregnant. But we didn’t plan the calendar this way: stories like this are always important to us at BSR, just like stories about other kinds of interconnected justice, and we’ll keep spotlighting them regardless of the news cycle.
This week's picks include an exhibition of prints from a company that helped to democratize American art, a highly recommended new novel by a Philly writer, and an unexpected defense of screen-time for kids.
Thanks for continuing the summer with us!
