Thanks to those who came out for our HELP US HELP YOU webinar last night! It was great to see our fearless leader Alaina and a wonderful panel talk about the do's and don'ts of arts PR. It's been interesting to see the evolution of PR through this decade, especially considering a pandemic turned the world upside down. The way we communicate, share, experience the world has shifted, and their expertise helped crystalize some of those shifts. It can be hard to see how communication and outreach have changed over the years—in our real lives and in our creative professional lives. The change isn't always so obvious. And it can be difficult to remember how things used to be sometimes. But if there's anything I've valued during my time here at BSR is how we've been able to cut through the noise and articulate a clear vision. That's not only the work of our staff but our contributing writers as we all help get the word out for creators, artists, and PR folks alike.
This week's roundup sees summer start its unofficial wind down into August. Outdoor theater performances and new exhibitions decorate the last full week of the month—be sure to check it out. Next week is my final week as the associate editor here at BSR (I'll be helping out with some behind the scenes things through the end of September, so it's not goodbye just yet!), and I've got a ton of stories lined up for you. Looking forward to sharing with you!
Until then, be good, Philly!
