June is right around the corner, and in celebration of Pride Month starting this Sunday, we've got a collection of events to help kickstart festivities! This week sees new plays from Quintessence Theatre and Theatre Exile—one taking inspiration from a James Baldwin classic and another an original from local satire hero R. Eric Thomas. You can also catch films, dance performances, and new music that also help get into the spirit.
Next week is also the start of BSR Book Week 2025. Keep an eye out for reviews, giveaways, and a Philly-centric author chat featuring Elise Juska (Reunion), John Morrison (Boyz II Men 40th Anniversary Celebration), Tre Johnson (Black Genius: Essays on an American Legacy), Annie Liontas (Sex with a Brain Injury: On Concussion and Recovery), and Eric Smith (With or Without You). I'll be hosting—so I hope to see you there!
Be good, Philly.
