Here we are in mid-December, and I can’t lie: I’m excited about the prospect of winding down. The holiday season is a hectic one, and I feel like I forget that every year. Social obligations, finishing off projects, the falling temperatures and the shorter days, preparing for travel—it can be a dense time even if you don’t celebrate. I hope your next few weeks give you the opportunity for deep rest and reflection, and I hope you come into the new year rejuvenated and refreshed.
This week, check out our profile on Philadelphia Ballet’s Jaime Santoro as she reflects on the hard work and dedication that goes into rehearsing and prepping The Nutcracker’s younger performers. Then, we’ve got an encore of sorts with I Hear You and I’d Like to Respond, a Miniball Festival entry that asks you to think of how to reconstruct and rebuild what you know and what you “see.”
And thank you to all of our supporters! Your donations are greatly appreciated and go a long way here at BSR. Consider supporting us today if you haven't yet here.
Peace and love to you and yours!
