We noticed this week that the Kimmel Cultural Campus has updated its Covid-safety policy, noting on June 13 that "masks are welcomed, but not required" at its venues. This move matters: the Kimmel complex houses some of the biggest theaters in town, and this update will no doubt be an influential one on Philly's scene.
For thousands of people who attend events and performances at the Kimmel Cultural Campus, and many others who attend dozens of smaller institutions whose own protective policies vary, this complicates the choice to return to in-person arts.
