The American Philosophical Society opened These Truths: The Declarations of Independence, its latest exhibit, last week, and editor-in-chief Alaina Johns has plenty to say about it in her editorial. In times like these, an exhibition can be quite a bit to unpack—and perhaps that's necessary. The exhibition paints an interesting illustration that doesn't simply bring copies of the Declaration of Independence together into one room, but it contextualizes the document with more documents and artifacts that color what the Revolution looked like in everyday life. Much of it draws parallels to what is happening today in America, from the small, daily happenings to the big picture. Be sure to check out her thoughts before (or after) you see the exhibition for yourself.
This week's roundup is also here, featuring new exhibitions, film screenings, and more to get you through to the end of April.
