Especially in weeks like this, with international crises that boggle the comprehension of responsible citizens, we thank you for tuning into BSR. Our community is still here, and our attention on local economies and local artists is still building the world that we want to have, day by day.
This week, our writers are heading to the Science History Institute for an unexpected look at lunch and a groundbreaking concert from PCMS. Plus, we dive into the genesis of the Citywide James Ijames Pass, which gives ticket-buyers an opportunity to catch all three of the Pulitzer-winning writer's plays onstage in Philly this season. And now that we're one week into 2026, I'm looking ahead, troubled by December comments from Mayor Parker.
And we are about one week out from Party with the Critics on January 15! Tickets have been going fast this week, but they're still available. This party is a chance to chat with BSR staff and maybe your favorite BSR writer, and meet other BSR supporters who are powering local media in 2026. We are also excited to welcome Councilmember Rue Landau, who will present BSR with a citation in honor of our 20 years of independent journalism. We would love to have you with us, because our community is the reason we're still here. We'll have food, drinks, and a performance from Chris Davis, who will bring us an excerpt from his popular solo show, The 40-Year-Old Ballerino.
Get your tickets here.
Stay strong this week. Stay connected to what matters. Thanks for being here with us. We hope to see you next week!
