If half of the people who read BSR this month tossed us $10, our whole operation would be funded for almost a year. Hey, an editor can dream! As with any paywall-free publication, the number of people who step up to donate is tiny compared to the number of people who read us. This week, several new donors are chipping in as we begin our Fringe coverage, and we want them to know how much their support means to us. Welcome to our wonderful community of donors. We hope to see you at future BSR meetups!
Of course, lots of people aren't able to spare even a few bucks, and that's OK. We're all doing our best, and we love our community of writers, artists, cultural institutions, and readers. Your consistent readership also sustains us, especially when you share BSR stories with your friends.
This week, we're reviewing Les Mis, running through Sunday at the Academy of Music. And if you're a Les Mis fan, don't miss Gabrielle Kaplan-Mayer's beautiful essay about encountering it in Philly as a teen. We're also heading to the spooky Rockwood Mansion in Delaware, and taking a look at a Philly music program that's shaping the orchestras of the future. Look out later this week for our first 2024 Fringe reviews!
