We are now diving into the last three months of the year, but first, I think we all could use a breather. Maybe even two or three breathers, to be honest. I don’t know how to succinctly articulate just how awful this year has been in the grand scheme of things. We’re watching our resources and infrastructures splinter into shattered pieces, and it’s becoming harder and harder to be resolute in the face of so much change and loss. Yes, the arts are here to help us through that, but I can’t help but wonder—what more do we need as we go forward? How do we “finish the year strong?” And what is there to look forward to in our future? It’s difficult to find the optimism, and yet, we continue to dig deep and find something within us.
Be good, Philly. We need more good, and we need it every day.
