I love it when our writers file their reviews, because I'm just as interested in their take as our readers are. A lot of the time, once I get a review edited and posted, my next move is to get tickets to the show. I wish I could see everything! But there aren't enough hours in the week. When you read our reviews, I hope you feel similarly inspired to see the work the writer describes, and decide for yourself if you agree with their opinions.
This week, our writers are weighing in on the national tour of Kimberly Akimbo (Cameron Kelsall says get your tickets), the world premiere of 1 Pound 4 Ounces (Josh Herren highly recommends), and Pandemonium at Moore and the Franklin Institute (Pamela J. Forsythe says it parachutes you "into a twister of American history, collapsing time to make plain the nation’s recurring cycles of overreaction and backlash, power grabs and rebalancing, corruption and correction, damage and repair"). Plus, Cameron covers the Philadelphia Orchestra's latest outing, including Jennifer Higdon's monumental Concerto for Orchestra (she was there!). I joined Cameron for the reviewed performance last Friday, and all I can say is wow. I have never heard a program like that before.
And here's one more reminder ahead of next week's Pennsylvania election on Tuesday, November 4. If you're in PA, make your plan to vote now. We often feel like captives to our national political circus, but the reality is that the people we elect to local office, including our attorney general and our judges, have a much bigger impact on our daily lives. Make your voice heard.
Kyle will be with you tomorrow, sharing his picks for the weekend. And we'll be in your inbox on Friday morning (Happy Halloween!) with our November BSR in the Wild picks. Don't miss this subscribers-only scoop on what our team is seeing next month.
