The question is—do you have a proper, solid, and sound blueprint?
Martin Luther King Day lands early in the calendar year, and I find myself tuning into his speeches and reading about him and his peers to prepare myself for what’s to come. This year, I’m contemplating his blueprint speech again, a tried and true speech that resonates with me a little more each time I listen to it.
Something I want to drive home for myself this year is taking time and making space for rebuilding/retooling/revising my foundation. These last years have been disruptive of foundations for all of us, to say the very least. But have we spent enough time and energy considering how and where our foundation may be faltering because of what we’ve been enduring? Have we been able to cast the pandemic haze in our heads aside for moments long enough to see what has changed within us and how we’re going to move forward in this new world? Finding moments is challenging, and knowing how to unveil our own truths in those moments is even more challenging, but I think MLK Day is the perfect time to start. What is your blueprint now in 2023?
