It’s Indigenous Peoples Day, and this week’s roundup features some IPD-themed events happening right here in the city. There’s also a new event from ConsenSIS, and though it’s not tied in with IPD, it does have me contemplating my own ancestry.
I’m sure I’ve talked quite a bit about “remembering” this year, and that “remembering” continues. I wish there were more cultural holidays in the States, and I wish we took the ones we had more seriously, especially when we may be outsiders. Seeing how others connect with who they are can be an inspiring experience, even if their experience is not yours. I hope you find some inspiration this week, regardless of how you may identify.
