The equinox is one of two days out of the year where we see the same amount of day as we do the night. I don’t know about you, but I’ve found myself doing quite the balancing act lately. Most days, I feel out of balance. But during those days, there’s often at least a moment of balance. It can last a few minutes, or maybe even a few hours if I can fall into a flow state. And in those moments, I remind myself that the imbalance is okay, too. I’m taking these punches one at a time. That’s all I can do, and I find myself embracing that more and more—the balance comes more frequently when I do, and sometimes, I feel like I’m in control. Imagine…
One way to help find balance? FOOD. And chef Michael Twitty has the recipe. Shavon Norris shows us how chaos can converge, and Opera Philadelphia sings its heart out as it builds a new stage for its Festival O22: Opera on Film. Then, the roundup features plenty of events to help with the balancing you may be working on—including a bell hooks symposium, a night market for foodies, and the Hare Krishna Street Fair.
Hope you find a little bit of balance amongst the chaos. Stay fresh, friend!
