A 19th-century mansion repurposed into museum galleries. A 1927 movie theater reborn after an 18-year renovation. A new museum exhibition first imagined by an activist in 1859. Our stories this week prove that it can take 100 years or more to reimagine important structures, or to go from inspiration to reality. That makes success all the more impressive. Check out this week's stories and celebrate these wins in our region.
In other news, it's full steam ahead for our coverage of the 2025 Fringe Festival and the 2025-26 arts season. It's overwhelming to look at a calendar with 300+ performance options, but we're here to help. We're starting with my suggestions, including a roundup of shows by disabled artists who are refusing to give up or disappear in the face of injustice. Kyle is bringing you his own picks later this week, and we're also looking forward to sharing some wild solo show recs from Fringe veteran Sarah Knittel, with a fun twist.
As we barrel into the season, we'd love to know what you're seeing, and we're excited to share our lineup of reviews throughout September.
