Ledger has written, edited, photographed and, when captivated by brightly colored, shiny materials, she has made things. She writes most often now about biomedical research, but also likes to write about the visual arts. “It’s a way of better understanding those things that really give pleasure,” she says. She is a former board member of the University City Arts League and a current board member of the Garden Court Community Association, through which she has brought some choral music to a local public school that has no music teacher. She is a fancier of Bakelite jewelry, a perpetual student of the Spanish language, and a practitioner of tai chi. She used to dance Argentine tango obsessively, and she still loves the music of Pugliese and Piazzolla. Ledger lives in West Philadelphia.
